OUR PHILOSOPHY
Little Footsteps aims to provide a warm, child orientated centre that promotes optimum learning in a relaxed, welcoming and stimulating environment. An environment where the children feel safe and secure in their relationships with both their peers and Educators and where their learning and development is fostered .
We recognises the importance of having qualified staff who are sensitive, warm and approachable and who will remain dedicated to the long-term well being of children.
We value communication and consultation between teachers, family and whanau and strive to ensure all parties’ values, needs and aspirations are respected.
We practice Primary Caregiving to provide your child with a stable environment in which they can develop to their full potential. To find out more about our Primary Caregiving practices click here
We provide a quality environment and endeavour to have high ratios of qualified, registered teachers making it possible to devote attention to small groups of individual children .
Children learn through play and it is through spontaneous play, supported by a rich and challenging environment with teachers of a high quality, that children are empowered to actively learn. We support cultural diversity and equity for all children by reflecting the unique place of te reo Maori and tangata whenua and the principle of partnership inherent in Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi)
This Philosophy statement underpins the culture of both our centres with each centre reflecting its own identity
Mission Statement
At Little Footsteps we believe that every child who enters our door has huge potential just waiting to be unwrapped. We could be educating doctors, who will look after us when we are old, or they could be a future olympic champion. That is why we believe that children must be given every opportunity to learn through play.
Little Footsteps has a commitment to provide you and your child with the every best available child care and early education. We all know that children are our most valuable asset.
